Every Monday at 19:00 from 7 September through 14 December 2026, the Pierre Bergé Auditorium at the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech runs a free cine-club. The museum posted the cycle on 2 September. It sits next to the costume exhibition Yves Saint Laurent Onstage, which is dated 30 January 2026 to 5 January 2027 on the official current-exhibition page.
This is not the FIFM red carpet in November. It is a 7pm weekday screening in Gueliz, original version with French subtitles, French films with English subtitles, no ticket. Seats are limited. The museum says no admission after 19:00 on this cycle. If you arrive at 19:05 you watch the door close.
What the Monday cycle is actually showing
The Instagram post from @myslmarrakech calls it Ciné-Club Hors-série #4, part 2. Curators Stephan Janson and Domitille Éblé picked fourteen films about ballet, musical revues, dance and musical theatre. The museum names Federico Fellini, Stanley Donen, Jacques Demy and Damien Chazelle as the range. The same two curators signed Yves Saint Laurent Onstage, so the films are meant to sit beside the costumes, not replace them.
The older cine-club pages on museeyslmarrakech.com still carry leftover Thursday 19:00 copy from earlier years. For this autumn, trust the 2 September post and the Hors-série #4 block: Mondays, 19:00, 7 September to 14 December 2026. Download the current flyer from the cine-club section if you need the film-by-film list. Titles rotate. Do not assume last month’s Indian-cinema cycle is still running. That FILMINDIA series ended 31 August.
Onstage in the galleries, dogs in the photo rooms
Onstage is the big costume show. Guest curators Janson and Éblé, design by Jasmin Oezcebi. It follows Saint Laurent from a 1950 Oran performance of Molière through Roland Petit ballets and the Zizi Jeanmaire revues, including Mon truc en plumes from 1961. The museum stresses costume work as the place you see his line, colour and light more clearly than in the fashion sketches. It stays up until 5 January 2027. Closed Wednesday. Open 10:00 to 18:00, last entry 17:30, on the press kit. Cross-check hours on museeyslmarrakech.com the morning you go, because garden and museum last-entry times differ.
Separately, the photography gallery still has Yves Saint Laurent and His Dogs, curated by Martin Bethenod, through 29 September 2026. That show is already listed on our event page. You can do dogs, Onstage and a Monday film in one visit if you start at the garden in the morning and hold a seat for 19:00. Combined garden and museum tickets are sold only on tickets.jardinmajorelle.com. Third-party QR codes are refused at the gate. The Jardin Majorelle itself is open daily 8:00 to 18:30, last entry 18:00.
How a Monday night actually works in Gueliz
The museum sits on Rue Yves Saint Laurent, opposite the garden, in Gueliz. From the medina, take a petit taxi and ask for Jardin Majorelle, not the Koutoubia. From Gueliz cafés on Boulevard Mohammed V it is a short walk or a 10 DH hop. There is no useful tram stop at the door.
Free does not mean casual. The auditorium is small. Earlier cine-club seasons filled on busy Mondays, especially when a well-known title was listed. Get there before 18:45. Eat first. Gueliz restaurants around Rue de la Liberté and the Majorelle block will seat you faster than a medina riad if you need to be in a seat at 19:00. Photography rules inside galleries are posted at the door. The screening room is darker and quieter than a Jemaa rooftop. Treat it as a museum, not a bar.
If Monday is sold out by the time you reach the auditorium, the Onstage rooms and the garden still justify the taxi. The cine-club is the cheap extra, not the only reason to come to this corner of Gueliz in September.
