About this event
The Moroccan Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs confirmed that Eid al-Mawlid Annabaoui falls on Tuesday 25 August 2026, with a second public holiday on Wednesday 26 August (Rabiʿ al-Awwal 1448).
In Marrakech the day is lived as a religious and neighbourhood festival: recitations and visits along the historic Seven Saints (Sabʿat Rijal) circuit, gatherings at medina zawiyas, and a busier evening square at Jemaa el-Fnaa. Visit Marrakech’s regional moussem page describes these saint-day gatherings as a mix of prayer, song, crafts and local markets — not a single ticketed stage.
Expect many shops and offices closed on the two public holidays; restaurants and the night market still run. Dress modestly near shrines; photography inside mosques is usually not allowed.

Tips & practical info
Confirm shrine opening with your riad; some zawiyas are busiest after Asr and Maghrib.
Banks and many offices are closed; ATMs and hotels still operate.
Dress conservatively if you visit tombs or mosques; remove shoes at the threshold.
Jemaa el-Fnaa remains the easiest public place to feel the evening atmosphere.
