About this event

The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech (mYSLm) presents the first exhibition dedicated to the collaborative work between photographer David Seidner (1957–1999) and the House of Yves Saint Laurent. On view in the temporary exhibition gallery through 2 August 2026, the show gathers images taken between 1983 and 1995 that display the confidence and artistic freedom granted to the young photographer by the renowned couturier.

Shortly after meeting Pierre Bergé in Paris in the early 1980s, Seidner was entrusted with creating the image that would launch Paris perfume. The exhibition traces a decade of work spanning fashion campaigns, portraits and still lifes — a dialogue between two sensibilities that helped shape the visual language of late-20th-century couture.

The museum itself, opened in 2017 opposite the Jardin Majorelle, is a fitting venue: a building whose terracotta facade and linen-shuttered geometry echo the Marrakech that inspired Saint Laurent throughout his life.
