About حدائق المنارة / Jardins de la Ménara

The Ménara is the picnic the city uses. CRT traces the basin to the Almohad sultan Abd al-Mu’min in the 12th century, a large enclosed orchard (bouhaïra) with a reservoir. The standing pavilion, per the ministry, was built under Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, with an inscription dated 1869–1870, green pyramidal roof, three arches on the basin. The olive grove is free. Climbing the pavilion is a ministry ticket: foreign adult 60 DH, foreign child 7–13 30 DH, Moroccan adult 30 DH, Moroccan child 10 DH, Moroccans free Friday and feast days. CRT seven-gardens lists grove hours 05:00–19:30 in summer and 06:00–18:30 in winter. UNESCO 331 names the Ménara water feature and pavilion among the médina’s monuments. Sunset is the photograph. Menara Mall is a different place, further east on Mohamed VI.
